Reaction#4

An imperial affliction is Hazel favorite book. The book is about a girl named Anna who lives in California and gets a blood cancer. There is a lot of drama scenes in that book with Anna’s cancer and her mother's romantic story with a Dutch man. The book ends right in the middle of a sentence. I was surprised that Hazel is so obsessed with the book and reads it million times, and she does not know the ending! Also she has many questions about Anna and other characters. That is really grabbed my attention because if I were her, I would be so mad that I spent a lot of time reading a book that has six hundred fifty-one pages with no ending. While I was reading, I was interested to know Hazel's explanation about loving a book with no ending. “ I understood the story ended because Anna died or got too sick to write and this mid sentence thing was supposed to reflect how life really ends and whatever,…” this is Hazel's explanation and she barley persuaded me. At the end, it was really interesting to know Hazel's perspective about her favorite book because now I know more about the main character's complicated personality.

  3. Indeed, the story seems interesting although it has no ending. However, I might get angry when I discover that the story that I have spent long time reading it has no ending or maybe I can call it an open ending.
